NEW IN THE SHOP: LYKKE INTERCHANGEABLE KNITTING KITS

Welcome to Knotty by Nature
Since 2008, Knotty by Nature has been a pillar of fibre community on the traditional, unceded territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən People, known today as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations. Nestled in the heart of Fernwood, our shop is a welcoming space for fibre artists of all skill levels—whether you weave, felt, spin, macramé, or explore fibre arts in your own unique way.
More than just a store, we are a community hub dedicated to creativity and sustainability. We offer a carefully curated selection of natural fibres, tools, and kits, as well as workshops for beginners and seasoned makers alike. Our loom rentals, drum carding station, and Yarn Library make fibre arts accessible to all, and our annual Fibrations festival brings the local fibre community together in celebration.
You'll know you've arrived when you see the rainbow steps—because at Knotty by Nature, everyone is welcome. And once inside, you might just be greeted by Sokka, our shop cat, who takes his role as store supervisor very seriously.
Whether you're looking for materials for your next project, hands-on learning, or simply a place to connect with fellow makers, we look forward to seeing you! Visit us in-store or shop online!
Meet the Team

Ryan
Ryan is the pillar of Knotty by Nature. He is one of the original founders of both the store and Fibrations Festival. Ryan does it all - spinning, needle felting, wet felting, weaving, macrame, knitting, dyeing, and more!

Annie
The greatest joy for me is making something out of nothing. Using bits of roving, fabric scraps and leftover yarn I needle felt, hand stitch and knit up serendipity. Always colourful. Always whimsical.

Noah
I was a long-time Knotty customer before I was absorbed into to the fold! My primary focus is tapestry weaving but I dabble in rigid heddle weaving, felting, embroidery and macrame.

Erinn
aka Arbutus Mama! I raise wild ones by the sea and under the trees. I love fibre art just as much: rigid heddle weaving, crochet, spinning, felting, and sewing.
