About the event

Join us on Friday, August 14th at 6PM for a night of celebrating local fibre!

Our keynote speaker, Sarah Thornton of the Vancouver Island Fibreshed, will give a presentation on the importance of local wool and the work of the VI Fibreshed organization, which will be followed by a Q&A session. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the amazing things local fibre enthusiasts are doing to revitalize Canadian wool.

We will also be screening Forgotten Fibre, "the short documentary revealing wool’s forgotten potential in textiles, and the industry’s urgent need for sustainable solutions", and The Nettle Dress, a documentary following textile artist Allan Brown as he spends seven years creating a dress out of nettles, while processing his grief after the passing of his wife.

Tickets are sliding scale/by donation - this helps us cover the venue rental and speaking fees.
